The role owns core OS subsystems, security features, open-source stewardship, cross-team integration, build and release pipelines, automated testing, and production rollouts, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to upstream communities. Candidates need at least five years of professional software development experience, five years of programming experience, five years of leading design or architecture, and experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering-team leader. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of $168,100 to $227,400 annually.
