Description

Gather AI is hiring an SDE II Data Engineer to build its warehouse data foundation from scratch. The role creates extraction pipelines, dbt models, shared metrics, data quality tests, lineage, and tenant-isolated data services, starting with the Drone product and expanding to other warehouse-intelligence products. It is fully remote on the India-based team and requires 2–5 years of production data-pipeline experience, strong SQL, dbt or equivalent transformation experience, Python, orchestration, cloud, and data-quality skills.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 2–5 years building and running production data pipelines
Hands-on experience building tested models in dbt, Snowflake Dynamic Tables, Databricks Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, or equivalent
Production pipeline code with tests and code review, beyond notebooks or one-off scripts
Experience running pipelines in Airflow, Dagster, Databricks Lakeflow Jobs, Snowflake Tasks, or equivalent, including handling failures, re-runs, and backfills
Experience loading data from an operational database into a warehouse or lakehouse such as Snowflake or Databricks
Production experience on Azure or another major cloud, including object storage, Git, CI/CD, and Docker/Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications: PostgreSQL experience
Change data capture or streaming experience
PySpark or Snowpark
Terraform or other infrastructure as code
Semantic layers or data catalogs
Multi-tenant data platforms or row-level security
Working with image, video, or sensor data alongside structured records
Logistics, warehousing, or robotics domain experience
