Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, test, deploy, and operate large-scale, high-availability software systems serving millions of customers. The role owns medium-to-large features end-to-end, writes maintainable and well-tested code, participates in design and code reviews, operates services through monitoring and on-call, collaborates with product and engineering teams, improves engineering practices, and mentors junior engineers. Candidates need at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of design or architecture experience, one year of software development engineer experience, one year of experience with large-scale distributed or multi-threaded applications, object-oriented design experience, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and experience with at least one programming language. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of 143,700 to 194,400 USD annually.
