Apple is hiring an engineer to develop location intelligence for its mobile platforms, including location state estimation, on-device machine learning, sensor fusion, clustering, and production systems. The role involves designing algorithms that fuse GPS, WiFi, accelerometer, altimeter, and barometer data; building models for place inference and route prediction; processing billions of location events while preserving privacy; and optimizing CPU, memory, power, and radio usage across hundreds of millions of devices. The engineer will integrate work in Objective-C, Swift, and C++, validate performance with real-world data, and collaborate with Maps, Siri, Photos, Health, and Safety teams.
