Fortinet is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to own the detection models for FortiAIGate, an AI security and governance gateway. The role covers training, evaluation, optimization, adversarial hardening, and production serving of transformer-based classifiers and taggers, including quantization, distillation, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, INT8/FP8, Triton Inference Server, and vLLM. The engineer will also maintain detection models for personal and regulated data, monitor for drift, and support multilingual coverage. The position requires strong Python and PyTorch experience, transformer-model expertise, production inference experience, model optimization skills, and familiarity with MLOps and containerized deployment. The US base salary range is $150,000-$183,000, with medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
