Description

Amazon Web Services is hiring a Software Development Manager for its Applied AI Solutions organization to build and manage services for end-user computing. The role leads distributed engineering teams, influences technical direction, drives implementation across multiple locations, and works with product, program management, and other technical disciplines. The manager must have substantial engineering management, software architecture, distributed systems, and multi-tier web services experience, along with experience partnering with product or program management teams. The position is based in Seattle, Washington, with a base salary of 184,900 to 250,200 USD annually and comprehensive benefits.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications: Experience owning and leading significant projects from concept to deployment
Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem-solving abilities
Experience architecting, securing, and operating Amazon Web Services
Master's degree or above in computer science or equivalent, or 6+ years of technical work experience
Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership on requirements, product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing software engineering teams
