Description

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Manager (SDM III) to lead and grow a team of 14 engineers responsible for HyperPlane’s high-availability control-plane services. The role owns technical direction for scaling, placement, heat management, disruption mitigation, and attachment management; partners with EC2 Networking teams; and guides engineers through their careers. Candidates need substantial engineering management, software architecture, multi-tier web services, and full software development lifecycle experience. The position is based in Santa Clara, California, with a base salary of $212,700 to $287,700 annually.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
3+ years of designing or architecting systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications: Experience communicating requirements, technical designs, and product strategy with users, technical teams, and senior leadership
Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams
