Abbott is hiring an on-site Software Development Quality Engineer in Sylmar, California, to support the design, development, testing, verification, and quality assurance of firmware, communication software, non-product software, and automated manufacturing test systems. The role includes test planning and automation, design verification and validation, regulatory and FDA compliance, audit support, risk management, and continuous improvement of software and firmware testing processes. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field or equivalent education and experience, at least two years of combined software development and testing experience, programming experience, and familiarity with software configuration, defect tracking, code review, static analysis, and Agile or V-Model lifecycles. Prior medical device experience is preferred, and the base pay is $81,500 to $141,300.
