Description
Microsoft’s Open-Source Security and Tools team is hiring a Software Engineer 2 - Engineering Systems to develop scalable distributed services that scan package managers such as npm, NuGet, and PyPI; integrate security policies and scanners; build tools for secure open-source software consumption; support customers and production services; and contribute to design, estimation, and on-call operations. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least two years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with packaging ecosystems, software security, and databases. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 102,100 to USD 202,200 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
