Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer for Work IQ, Microsoft 365 Copilot’s workplace intelligence layer. The role owns the design and development of Work IQ’s REST and A2A APIs, MCP infrastructure, retrieval and orchestration services, and developer tooling. Responsibilities include setting technical and quality standards, building reliable terminal experiences, using data and user feedback to guide iteration, and collaborating across organizations to enable agentic products. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and at least two years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python; equivalent experience is accepted. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, five or more years of experience, production generative AI or agentic systems experience, customer-facing developer interface experience, product ownership, systems design, and evaluation experience.
