Description
AWS is hiring a Software Engineer for its RDS Platform scheduling team, which owns patching and maintenance scheduling for Amazon RDS and Aurora. The role focuses on building and operating distributed systems that automatically schedule, orchestrate, and safely deploy database engine upgrades, operating-system patches, and version deprecations across millions of customer resources. Responsibilities include AI-powered scheduling, near-zero-downtime OS upgrades, GenAI-driven policy setup, and Amazon Q integration, while improving security and operational experience for AWS customers. The position requires at least three years of professional software development experience, two years of design or architecture experience, and experience with at least one programming language; a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
