AWS Neuron Collectives is hiring a Software Engineer to optimize collective operations for AWS Trainium, a purpose-built AI training chip. The role focuses on improving collective algorithms and data-center training topologies, analyzing processor, DMA, firmware, and workload metrics, and developing C/C++ implementations of collective communication patterns. The engineer will work closely with hardware teams to maximize compute and bus bandwidth and build analysis and automation frameworks. The position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, at least five years of experience building complex software systems, and at least five years of experience contributing to system architecture, design, reliability, and scaling. The role is based in Cupertino, California, with a base salary of 193,300 to 261,500 USD annually.
