Applied Materials is hiring a full-time Software Engineer in Santa Clara, California, to design and develop complex software for semiconductor equipment components and devices, lead software projects, define specifications and test plans, communicate with customers, and troubleshoot difficult software problems. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 7–10 years of related experience, including extensive experience controlling high-precision, high-repeatability instruments or equipment. Preferred qualifications include a PhD, modern software and machine-learning technologies, embedded systems, PyTorch, and FPGA experience.
