Astronomer is hiring a Software Engineer for its Core Platform team to build and maintain production backend systems supporting the Astro Platform’s public API, authentication, billing, alerting, and infrastructure. The role involves architectural contributions, cross-functional collaboration, customer-facing feature delivery, and work on platform reliability, scalability, and usability. Candidates should have experience building performant backend systems, developing Go services with Kubernetes orchestration, using SQL databases, and understanding distributed systems; open-source, Apache Airflow, billing, authentication, and AI-assisted development experience are bonuses. The role is full-time and hybrid, with estimated total compensation of $210,000–$250,000 plus equity and benefits.
