Description

Flint Hills Resources is hiring a Software Engineer for its HIPE (Highly Immersive Plant Experience) team in Wichita, Kansas. The role builds full-stack software connecting enterprise data through web applications, APIs, cloud services, and graph-based platforms, while developing search, workflow automation, operational insights, data visualization, and AI-enabled capabilities. The position requires at least two years of software engineering experience, familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or another modern language, and experience with web applications, APIs, cloud platforms, databases, and collaborative software delivery. It offers a hybrid schedule and does not provide visa sponsorship.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications
Experience developing software with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or another modern programming language
Experience building web applications or APIs and working with cloud platforms, serverless services, or comparable distributed systems
Experience working with relational, document, or graph databases, including data modeling and querying
Experience collaborating with technical and business partners to clarify requirements, communicate tradeoffs, and deliver solutions iteratively
Preferred Qualifications: Full-stack TypeScript experience with React and Node.js, including modern state management, reusable component design, and schema-based validation
Experience with AWS serverless architecture and infrastructure as code, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, and SST
Experience with graph databases and Cypher, enterprise API integration, cross-application search, or event-driven architecture
Experience integrating large language models or AI agents into software products, including grounding, evaluation, security, and responsible use
Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, agile delivery, and collaborative development practices using Git and work-tracking tools
Experience in energy, manufacturing, industrial operations, or delivering digital products that improve complex business work processes
