Google is hiring a Software Engineer, Core to build and maintain the technical foundation for its flagship products. The role provides technical leadership, coaches distributed engineering teams, manages project priorities and deliverables, and designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and enhances large-scale software solutions. It requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, and substantial experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute, storage, hardware architecture, software testing, and software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, extensive data structures and algorithms experience, technical leadership experience, and experience in complex matrixed organizations. The position offers a US salary of $207,000–$300,000 plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
