Description
MotherDuck is hiring a Database Engineer to own major projects in its dual local-and-cloud execution stack, build resource-assignment and distributed execution systems, improve embedded database performance, and support DuckDB internals. The role requires backend systems experience, fluency in C++, Rust, Java, or similar systems languages, knowledge of query engines and performance optimization, cloud and distributed-systems experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor teammates. The position is ideally based in Amsterdam or Berlin, with remote work in Europe also available, and follows a hybrid schedule of three office days per week.
