Description
Mackenzie is hiring a Quantitative Catastrophe Model Developer to plan, design, develop, test, and debug catastrophe modeling applications and services using Python, Numpy, C, and SQL. The role involves translating complex business requirements into technical designs, supporting production modeling systems, developing in-house catastrophe models, explaining complex concepts, and participating in architectural and agile development decisions. Candidates need a numerate bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mathematics or computer science, at least three years of application development using Python and Numpy, and experience with matrices, arrays, stochastic simulation, and SQL. Insurance principles, catastrophe modeling, and experience with AIR, RMS, or EQE models are pluses. The salary is 95k with DOE, and no visa sponsorship is available.
