Description

Harbinger is hiring a Software Engineer, Firmware to design and implement bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for advanced electric vehicle motor control systems. The role focuses on microcontroller optimization, board support packages, low-level drivers, high-frequency field-oriented control, system performance and safety, testing, debugging, and cross-functional integration. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, at least three years of embedded firmware experience, strong C/C++ skills, ARM Cortex-M experience, and knowledge of motor control, digital signal processing, and embedded communication protocols. The California pay range is $130,000 to $160,000 USD, with comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field
Required Previous Experiences: 3+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development
Hands-on experience developing for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers or equivalent embedded platforms
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a focus on control systems
Direct experience developing firmware for electric vehicle powertrains or automotive motor controls
Hands-on experience implementing sensorless control techniques
Deep knowledge of complex timer units and cross-triggering peripherals, such as eTPU and GTM
Proven experience setting up, maintaining, and running Hardware-in-the-Loop testing environments
