Google is hiring a Software Engineer for its Google Compute Engine Fleet Deployment Platform team to own services and tools managing the lifecycle of VM and host software updates. The role focuses on improving deployment velocity, reliability, and predictability through disruption-free and pipelined releases, while providing technical leadership, coaching distributed engineers, and managing large-scale software projects. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, extensive C++ and software development experience, and experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or compute technologies. Compensation is $207,000–$300,000 USD plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
