Despegar is hiring a Software Engineer III Back End for its Shopping Cart development team. The role involves gathering requirements, designing scalable backend solutions, owning applications end to end, developing and optimizing RESTful APIs, working with MongoDB and Redis, monitoring application health, and improving performance and scalability. Candidates need at least six years of experience developing scalable backend solutions with Java, experience with MongoDB and Redis, familiarity with the full development and release workflow, and an interest in AI tools; frontend experience is a plus.
