Description
Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer II for its combined DevOps team supporting Microsoft Defender and sovereign and government cloud services. The role involves building scalable and reliable services, improving engineering systems, automating service-scale features, investigating and deploying production fixes, and participating in an on-call rotation. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field plus at least two years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access. Preferred qualifications include CI/CD, Git, Windows and Linux systems, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and large-scale production-service experience. The typical U.S. base pay range is USD 102,100 to USD 202,200 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
