Description
Despegar is hiring Backend Engineers for its SOFIA artificial intelligence platform serving the travel experience. The role involves designing and evolving backend services, participating in scalable architecture decisions, owning solutions through production, integrating internal services and external APIs, improving AI capabilities, maintaining code quality and service reliability, and collaborating with product, UX, and frontend teams. Candidates should have at least five years of backend application experience, experience with JVM-based languages such as Java or Scala, knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, and understanding of API design and service architecture; familiarity with microservices and AI-based products is preferred.
