Horace Mann is hiring a mid-level Software Engineer III to independently design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and optimize enterprise applications and business process solutions. The role owns the full software development lifecycle, serves as a subject matter expert across multiple applications, contributes to architecture and technology decisions, supports DevOps and CI/CD automation, troubleshoots production issues, mentors junior engineers, and improves application performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency. Required technologies include C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, T-SQL, Entity Framework/EF Core, REST/Web APIs, automated unit testing, Git, and AI-assisted development tools.
