Google is hiring a Software Engineer for its Distributed Cloud team to develop product and system code, participate in technology design reviews, review and improve other developers’ code, contribute documentation, and triage and resolve infrastructure, network, hardware, and service issues. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, two years of experience with C, C++, or Go, and experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute, storage, or hardware architecture, including SDN, network virtualization, Kubernetes networking, CNI, and eBPF. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD in computer science or a related field and experience with low-level systems software, Linux kernels, networking stacks, or crypto APIs. The role offers a US salary of $147,000–$210,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
