Google is hiring a Software Engineer, Infrastructure to lead the architecture and multi-year technical roadmap for Fleet planning and optimization, including data-center resource placement, reconfiguration, utilization efficiency, and automation for deploying Google’s ML hardware. The role partners with Product Management and other teams to define features, align architectures, and deliver a scalable, customer-focused infrastructure ecosystem. It requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of C++ programming experience, 5 years of software design, architecture, and product testing experience, and experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, technical leadership experience, complex matrixed-organization experience, and distributed-systems or capacity-planning expertise. The position offers $262,000–$364,000 USD plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
