Google is hiring a Software Engineer (Infrastructure) for its SovOps team to build and secure sovereign cloud platforms for Google Public Sector air-gapped services. The role covers service design, software development, capacity planning, launch reviews, monitoring, scaling, automation, incident response, and architectural improvements. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, at least two years of large-scale distributed systems experience, one year of software development experience, and an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, algorithm and software design experience, Go experience, and technical leadership experience. The position offers $147,000–$210,000 USD plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
