Twilio is hiring a Software Engineer (L2) - Messaging API to help its Communications Engineering team build, maintain, deploy, and operate software at scale. The role involves developing backend services and APIs, conducting code reviews, supporting production operations and releases, participating in on-call rotations, and creating documentation. It is remote, with occasional travel for meetings, and is not eligible for candidates in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience, Go or Java experience, strong communication skills, and on-call participation; NoSQL, cloud, containerization, and Temporal experience are desired. Compensation ranges from $116,960 to $171,900 depending on location, with benefits including healthcare, retirement, paid leave, and potential equity and bonus participation.
