Description
Ema is hiring an AI Research Engineer to work on production AI agents, including agent and tool-use systems, post-training, reward modeling, reinforcement learning environments, retrieval and memory, evaluation design, and production serving. The role combines applied research with engineering, requiring ownership of experiments, systems, deployment, monitoring, and failure analysis. Candidates should have substantial depth in one or more relevant areas, evidence of zero-to-one project ownership, statistical judgment, production engineering judgment, and honest measurement; a master’s or PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred. The role is based in the Bay Area, Vancouver, or India, with compensation and benefits determined by location, level, knowledge, skills, and experience.
