Description
The Senior Staff Software Engineer, AlloyDB Platform, will lead the architecture and engineering culture for Google Cloud’s AlloyDB platform, a managed PostgreSQL-compatible database. The role manages and mentors software engineers, defines long-term technical goals for the Agentic era, oversees production-grade platform components, collaborates with Product Managers and UX, and coordinates integrations across Google Cloud engineering teams. It requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, technical leadership experience, people-management experience, and experience with large-scale distributed systems, managed cloud services, or relational databases.
