Description
Google is hiring a Software Engineer, Network Traffic Engineering to deliver end-to-end network flows for Google and Google Cloud Platform services. The role focuses on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale traffic-engineering software, including routing, load balancing, solver algorithms, network programming, and availability improvements. It also provides technical leadership, coaches distributed engineering teams, and coordinates releases with other UTE, testing, and Site Reliability Engineering teams. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of C++ programming experience, 5 years of software design and architecture experience, and experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces. Compensation is $262,000–$364,000 USD plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
