Speechify is hiring a Backend Engineer to design, build, and own APIs and services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, consumption tracking, analytics, and its public text-to-speech API. The role focuses on improving reliability, cost, and correctness; automating work; designing B2B and enterprise integrations; and collaborating with product, mobile, and web teams. It requires proven backend experience with TypeScript and Node, direct GCP experience, and familiarity with at least one other cloud platform. The position is fully distributed, offers a United States salary range of 140,000–200,000 USD per year plus bonus and stock, and includes several technical interviews and a take-home assessment.
