Discord is hiring a Software Engineer to build and operate scalable backend infrastructure for content moderation, safety signal processing, and platform safety. The role involves designing and improving systems that detect harmful content, maintaining production services, participating in on-call rotations, applying adversarial security and scalability thinking, and collaborating with Trust & Safety, machine learning, policy, and product teams. Candidates need at least three years of backend or infrastructure software engineering experience in Python or a similar language, distributed-systems experience, debugging skills, and strong cross-functional communication.
