Anthropic is hiring a Sandboxing Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable sandboxing infrastructure for untrusted model-generated code and agent workloads. The role focuses on improving sandbox startup, density, throughput, isolation, monitoring, debugging, security hardening, and support for reinforcement learning and other AI research environments. It requires systems programming experience, strong low-level programming skills, virtualization or container isolation knowledge, and experience profiling and debugging system-level performance issues. The position offers an annual salary of $320,000–$485,000 USD, requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and follows a hybrid policy requiring office presence at least 25% of the time.
