Mercor is hiring a Backend Systems Software Engineer to design, build, and operate backend services, APIs, data models, background jobs, and high-throughput data pipelines for its Applied AI platform. The role owns features end to end, improves reliability and performance, implements observability, manages containers and infrastructure as code with Terraform, and participates in production on-call. Candidates should have 2–5 years of professional backend engineering experience, strong distributed-systems and database fundamentals, and experience with production services, CI/CD, monitoring, and debugging.
