Google is hiring a Software Engineer, Tools and Infrastructure for its XR Engprod - Dev and AI Infra team. The role builds and maintains developer tools and infrastructure that support XR software development, testing, debugging, release, and operations, including AI-powered features for code generation, review, test generation, and bug triaging. Responsibilities include technical design, architecture decisions, metrics tracking, collaboration with engineering teams, and code reviews. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of programming experience in Python, Java, Go, or C++, 5 years of developer-tool or CI/CD experience, 3 years of software design and architecture experience, and AI/ML experience; LLM expertise is preferred. Compensation is $207,000–$300,000 USD plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
