Google is hiring a Software Engineer for its XR team to develop product software and hardware readiness, guide products through launch milestones, optimize device-specific support and polish, and apply core technology to production. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, five years of C/C++ software development experience, three years of embedded operating systems experience, three years of software product testing, maintenance, or launch experience, one year of software design and architecture experience, and experience bringing consumer electronics devices to production. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, data structures and algorithms experience, Git and Gerrit, accessible technology development, and embedded MCU RTOS knowledge. The position offers a US salary of $174,000–$252,000 plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits, with in-person interviews and eligible work locations in San Jose, California, and Kirkland, Washington.
