Google is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead engineers across multiple teams and locations, manage a large product budget, and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects. The role focuses on frontier-level AI expertise, defining technical roadmaps, accelerating autonomous and agentic development, AI engineering, and agent-harness innovations, and driving large-scale machine-learning infrastructure optimization across Google Cloud. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of software development experience, and 5 years each in technical leadership, people management, and generative AI agents. Compensation is $262,000–$364,000 USD plus a 25% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
