Spellbook is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a small team building AI products for legal professionals. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on work in architecture, implementation, code review, and experimentation with coding agents and automation. The manager will set technical direction, ensure product quality and reliability, coach engineers, and help shape Spellbook’s engineering strategy. Candidates need at least five years of software development experience, including technical leadership in a fast-moving environment, along with strong system design, web development, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node, and AWS experience. The role is limited to candidates in St. John's.
