The role combines approximately 70% technical and design work with 30% management, supervising a small team of Application Software Engineers while owning software architecture, development schedules, quality processes, risk management, documentation, and mentoring. The position requires a degree in software engineering, computer science, or a similar field, an active Commonwealth NV1 security clearance, and at least seven years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in Python, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, testing, API design, and complex software development.
