Description

Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is hiring a Software Verification Engineer to verify and validate software on RTOS-based, multicore SoC architectures for aerospace and defense programs. The role covers integration, system testing, and software verification including HLR and LLR, with a strong preference for hybrid or onsite work in Endicott, New York. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of relevant software engineering experience, RTOS and DO-178C experience, and familiarity with C and Python. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or a related engineering discipline
Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of software engineering experience in avionics or electronic controls embedded development in a safety or mission-critical environment
Experience developing software on or with an RTOS and familiarity with RTOS concepts
Experience developing software to DO-178C standards
Experience with system-level hardware/software integration and software testing, including HLR and LLR
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with asymmetric multiprocessing
Experience debugging complex multicore SoC systems
Master’s degree in software engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience with ARM processors, SoC features, and ARM development toolsets
Experience developing device drivers and board support packages
Familiarity with ARINC, MIL-STD, PCIe, LIN, and CAN data transfer protocols
Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and confidentiality concepts
Familiarity with actuators and sensors
Experience with boundary value, structural coverage, and data and control coupling analysis
Experience with DO-330 tool qualification
Strong communication, active listening, self-management, and leadership skills
Team leadership and project or software functional leadership experience
Experience integrating emerging technologies into operations for continuous improvement
