Description
Entry-level, full-time Soil Scientist role commencing in January 2027, with positions across the Western Cape, Free State, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, North West, and Limpopo in South Africa. The role involves classifying soils for crop suitability, digitising soil data in QGIS, preparing reports, advising farmers and clients, and designing drainage, orchards, irrigation blocks, and soil-probe positions. Candidates need a relevant four-year agricultural, soil science, geology, or environmental science degree, with Soil Science at third-year level for BSc Agriculture applicants; GIS and crop experience are advantageous. Extensive travel, outdoor work, bilingual Afrikaans and English communication, a personal pickup truck, and occasional Saturday and long-hours work are required.
