Description
SpaceX is hiring a Solar Cell Quality Engineer to own the quality of its heterojunction solar cell fabrication and prevent defective cells from reaching module assembly, satellite integration, or flight. The role owns inline and offline metrology, test methods, sampling plans, acceptance criteria, binning, measurement-system analysis, calibration, SPC, root-cause analysis, quality KPIs, documentation, and mentorship. It requires a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and at least one year of relevant experience, with preferred qualifications including a master’s or Ph.D., solar-cell manufacturing experience, metrology and data-analysis skills, and full-time on-site availability. The position requires frequent travel, physical work, extended hours, and weekend availability, and applicants must meet U.S. ITAR authorization requirements.
