Description
The Department of Public Works is hiring a full-time, permanent, represented, safety-sensitive Solid Waste Collection Inspector for its Waste Management Division. The role inspects contractor solid waste collection crews on assigned routes, evaluates compliance with regulations and standards, explains requirements to contractors, investigates customer complaints, reviews fee assessments, assists with route planning and dumpster locations, dispatches calls, and maintains records. Applicants need a high school diploma, at least two years of experience involving solid waste collection and public contact, a valid non-commercial Class C motor vehicle operator's license, and knowledge of waste collection laws and the county's road network.
