Description

Synopsys is hiring a Senior Staff Engineer, Solutions Engineering to develop production-ready IP compilers for embedded monitoring, test, diagnostic, and repair solutions for 3DIC optical interconnects in the SMS/SHS product portfolio. The role combines optical and photonic chip design, co-packaged optics, multiphysics simulation, IC design flows, Verilog and SystemVerilog, Python automation, and technical leadership. Responsibilities include building an Ansys simulation bridge, mentoring engineering team members, producing technical documentation, and influencing product roadmaps. A master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a closely related discipline is required, along with expertise in optical test and diagnostics, multiphysics simulation, and IC design flows.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a closely related technical discipline
Required Previous Experiences: Expertise in optical or photonic chip design and co-packaged opto-electronic test, diagnostics, and repair methodologies
Technical background in multiphysics simulation, including reliability, mechanical, stress, and thermal analysis
Hands-on experience with IC design flows, Verilog, and SystemVerilog
Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and workflow development
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IEEE 1687, 1500, 1838, or 1149 communication interfaces and test standards
Familiarity with EDA tools, especially AI-assisted design tools
Technical leadership in cross-functional engineering environments
