The Sonographer performs OB/GYN ultrasound examinations, analyzes images, prepares exam rooms and equipment, documents procedures in an electronic health record, communicates findings to physicians, and coordinates with team members. The role requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, ultrasound types, patient privacy, infection control, and patient care, along with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. An associate degree or equivalent and Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification are listed, with state licensure where applicable.
