Description
The Special Education Classroom Assistant supports special education teachers in elementary and high schools by assisting students with disabilities in instruction, IEP implementation, tutoring, personal hygiene, daily living skills, feeding, note-taking, homework correction, behavior records, field trips, and other classroom activities. The role requires a valid TASN paraprofessional license or the ability to obtain one after completing required college credit or a paraprofessional exam, along with knowledge of disabilities, English, and basic mathematics. Physical demands include lifting and positioning non-ambulatory students, and the position offers medical, dental, vision, retirement, leave, and other employee benefits.
