Description
The Special Education Classroom Assistant supports special education teachers and students ages birth through 21 in elementary and high school settings. The role provides instructional reinforcement, one-on-one tutoring, personal hygiene and feeding assistance, mobility and positioning support, classroom accommodations, recordkeeping, field-trip assistance, and behavior support for students with a range of disabilities. The position requires an Illinois State Board of Education TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license, obtainable through college credits or a paraprofessional exam, and may require CPR training.
