The Palmdale School District is recruiting a Special Education Instructional Assistant I to support special education teachers and students. Duties include preparing and administering instructional and testing materials, assisting with lessons and individual or small-group instruction, supporting behavior modification, supervising students during activities, maintaining classroom records and learning environments, and operating instructional equipment. The position is typically part-time at 5.75 hours per day, follows the student calendar, and may offer additional hours based on seniority and availability. Applicants need basic reading and writing ability, academic proficiency through college coursework, an AA degree or higher, or a successful academic proficiency exam; instructional assistant experience and First Aid or CPR certificates are desirable. The role requires a qualifying multiple-choice exam and structured oral interview.
