L3Harris is hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Amityville, New York to design, prototype, and produce high-performance mechanical systems for airborne platforms, including suspension and release systems, pneumatic mechanisms, telemetry, antenna apertures, and displays. The role covers conceptual and detail design, CAD modeling, structural and thermal analysis, design reviews, development, integration, and testing, with an on-site schedule of 9 out of every 14 days and up to 10% travel. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and two years, or eight years of experience without a degree; mechanical engineering or a related degree, CAD skills, communication, and structural analysis knowledge are preferred.
